Hewlett-Packard Hero at Heart House
Govind Kaushal is a super hero to the staff of Heart House Dallas! Govind generously volunteers his time & expertise to Heart House as he serves as our webmaster, networking guru, troubleshooter extraordinaire, on-call IT support and SO much more. When dealing with technology issues over the past year, our sanity has been jeopardized several times - - but thanks to Govind’s calm reassurance and impressive competence, stability is always restored!
After moving to Dallas, Govind began searching for volunteer opportunities and found us through an online posting. What attracted him to our agency was our focus on education and children. Govind believes “Kids are the future and the way we educate the kids will shape the future of our society.” As a child, his father greatly impressed on him the value of education. As an adult, he now recognizes what a gift that was and that there are many children who are in need of that guidance and academic support. His desire to meet this need has driven him to devote countless hours in support of the children and mission of Heart House Dallas.
We are exceedingly fortunate to have Govind partnering with us. He is a man of impressive knowledge and experience, and possesses an endless supply of dependability, patience, and kindness! He always maintains a positive attitude no matter how great or small our problems are, or how many times we call on him!
We are not the only beneficiary of Govind’s time and expertise. Hewlett Packard is very proud to have him on board as their Technical Lead in Dallas after previously serving the company in India and Turkey. He has also donated his time to the National Wildlife Federation and Tsunami Relief fundraising efforts. When he’s not busy with work or volunteering, you can find him designing video games, fixing gadgets, going for a run, or perhaps even rock climbing or cruising on a jet ski!
We are taking this online opportunity to send a BIG THANK YOU to our Hero, Govind Kaushal!

In Loving memory of Arshad Ahmed
Arshad Ahmed found Heart House in 2005 during his internship year in Dallas at Texas Instruments. Arshad came to Heart House with a strong desire to help at-risk children, and was devoted to that cause throughout his service as a Tutor/Mentor volunteer in the Heart House program.
A kind individual, as well as an incredible and dependable volunteer, Arshad was always ready and willing to help wherever needed. Arshad also spread the word about our organization to his friends, and recruited other wonderful long-term volunteers to work with Heart House children.
After a fatal car accident on April 11, 2008, Arshad was taken from this world. Through the generosity of his friends, a memorial fund was established for Heart House Dallas on his behalf. Heart House is very grateful for having known, and to be the beneficiary of, his lasting inspiration.
We miss you, Arshad.
