Trevor Ross, Heart House Dallas
 Trevor
Ross |
What couldn’t we say about this outstanding volunteer? When Trevor moved to Dallas he didn’t wait to get settled in, he immediately sought out volunteer opportunities. We are forever grateful that he found Heart House. When he came into orientation he found out that our schedule didn’t fit his, but that didn’t stop him at all. He arranged his work schedule so that he could come spend every Thursday with us. The program staff is delighted to have him since his enjoyment is obvious and he is extremely dependable. Trevor has a way of being able to give sincere, meaningful one-on-one attention to many different kids each afternoon and this makes all the Heart House Park Hill kids adore him. He is an excellent mentor and role model for our children to look up to!
Furthermore, he goes beyond what we ask! He has shown up to volunteer on a day that he got out of work early; he is earnestly seeking to be involved with the fundraising aspects of Heart House; and he has even offered to help with such dreaded tasks as grant writing! Fresh out of college, Trevor took a job with Frito-Lay/Pepsi as a brand consultant that relocated him from New England to Dallas. His next goal is business school for his MBA, and then somewhere down the line he hopes to be able to start up a program like Heart House in another location! Trevor says that the most satisfying hours of his week are those spent at Heart House. With an attitude like that it’s clear to see that any future efforts of his will be a fantastic success!

Vicki Sicola,
Heart House Austin
Heart House Austin has been extremely fortunate to have a volunteer like Vicki
Sicola. Since August of 2002 Vicki has been donating her time to the organization, going through many incarnations along the way.
Vicki first started out as an intern as a requirement for a psychology class at St. Edward’s University, where she attended college. She enjoyed her time here so much that she continued volunteering, this time directly with the kids, even after her class obligation was met. Vicki grew so attached to the kids, that when a Program Leader
position opened up she immediately seized the opportunity. Vicki successfully filled that role for about a year. After graduating from college, Vicki left Heart House to start her own Nanny business and work in her family’s restaurant. We were all very sad to see her go. When asked about Ms. Vicki, 1st grader Jaymin said, “I wish she didn’t go to another job!”
What makes Vicki such an awesome volunteer is that she just can’t get enough! When Heart House needs an extra hand, Vicki is always happy to lend one. She has formed amazing relationships with the kids here. Every time she comes in to volunteer they all scream her name and pummel her with hugs. She truly enjoys spending time with the kids and hopes that they have learned from her how to love one another and not take life to seriously. We very much appreciate how much time and dedication Vicki has donated to this organization. We love you Ms. Vicki!!
