Jonathan Evans
Jonathan has spent much of his life volunteering with school events, PTA meetings, working with children in church, and tutoring GED candidates. His desire to impact kids’ lives, great tutoring skills, extensive experience, and vast IT knowledge make him a volunteer in VERY HIGH DEMAND around Heart House. Jonathan comes from several generations of teachers, so this may explain how working with children and unending patience comes naturally to him. Jonathan found Heart House after he moved to Dallas to attend UTD and major in Computer Science. After graduation next year, he hopes to obtain a job in the computer security industry possibly working to secure our government’s national defenses. Besides volunteering and school Jonathan spends his time playing video games, listening to music, and playing and leading role playing games. We want to send our very special thanks for all the hours he devotes to our children’s computer lab and for his willingness to tough it out with our junior high kids! Jonathan has also hosted special computer training seminars at two of our sites where he identifies internal components of a computer and offers our children some basics in IT knowledge. He doesn’t just volunteer the typical 1-2 hour shift each week but instead invests three full days at Heart House each week and has already volunteered more than 75 hours this school year alone! Jonathan is an amazingly gifted person and a fantastic asset to our organization; we’re hoping we’ll be seeing his face for a very long time to come!
